A few weeks ago, we heard from the Community Assistance Center (CAC) that serves families in need in Sandy Springs and Dunwoody. Since then, we have been working to identify a project with CAC. For the next three months, we have committed to bringing a team of eight volunteers on the first Saturday of November, December and January to help cleaning, processing donations that come in and stocking shelves in the food pantry.
Our first group volunteer activity will be Saturday, November 7 from 9:00 am - 12 noon at CAC's Sandy Springs facility. Anyone who is interested may come for required training. If you have children who are at least 15 years old, you are welcome to bring them too. If we have more than eight volunteers, some will be released after training and can sign up for one of our other dates.
Our work will take place indoors. COVID protocols are strictly enforced - and you will need masks and gloves (gloves will be provided). You can read more about CAC's COVID protocals. Other than a few staff members, we will be the only people onsite at CAC that Saturday morning.
You can sign up now by sending an email to Jennifer Bowler at jbowler325@gmail.com. We need to provide the names and e-mails of the attendees to CAC by Wednesday, November 4.
We hope you will join us for another opportunity to have fun making a difference!
