This Week's Speaker
Sean Minton, Global Grant Scholar Alumnus ... in Person or Via Zoom

This week, join us live at the Dunwoody Country Club or via Zoom to hear our speaker - Sean Minton - who will speak about his experience as a Global Grant Scholar - funded by The Rotary Foundation. It's a fitting start to Rotary Foundation Month. To join us on Zoom, just follow the link - https://us02web.zoom.us/j/86202979419.

Sean is originally from Florida and enjoys sunshine and close proximity to the ocean. In October 2018, Georgia Rotary District 6900 in the United States selected him to represent our district as a 2019-2020 Rotary Global Grant Scholar at King's College London in the United Kingdom. His course of study at King's was International Peace and Security MA in the renowned War Studies Department.

You may have read about Sean and his year in our District newsletter last year. His program of study fell under the Rotary focus area of "Peace and Conflict Prevention/Resolution." By taking a program that intertwines international politics and international law, he hopes to apply his acquired knowledge and skills in the foreign policy domain in the future.

Sean strives to advocate for policies that lead to better peace between nations and people. 'I am not a product of omy environment. My environment is a product of me."

In February 2020, Sean answered the call to establish a Rotaract Club by his host club - the Rotary Club of London. The Rotaract Club was officially charted by Rotary International on 26 March 2020. However, due to COVID-19, the club's charter was not signed by its parent club, the Rotary Club of London, until 1 June 2020. The Rotaract Club of London's inaugural meeting was chaired by Sean as founding president, on Wednesday 3 June 2020.
