Join us this Friday at the Embassy Suites to welcome Debbie Cwalina, Roswell Rotarian and creator of Be THE Voice. Debbie is the owner and founder of Creative Corporate Ideas Inc., a certified Woman Owned Business (WBE). She started her company in 1993 and has received recognition as a Top Woman Owned Small Business in the state of Georgia.
In
the Fall of 2014, looking for a place to make a difference, Debbie joined the
Roswell Rotary Club. Not long after her induction, she came across an article
highlighting the rise in tween suicides linked to cyberbullying. Having
witnessed the social struggles of a sibling during her own upbringing, she was
deeply moved by the tragic reality that children were taking their own lives to
escape torment. This sparked a passion within her, which laid the groundwork
for the creation of Be THE Voice.
Since
its inception, Be THE Voice has been implemented across school systems
throughout the state, gaining traction due to its peer-led approach and the
efficiency of its plug-and-play platform. Most notably, in the Fulton County
School District where 28 schools have adopted the program, there has been a significant
reduction in bullying incidents: a 95% decrease in elementary schools, 77% in
middle schools, and 91% in high schools during the 2022-2023 academic year!
The
extraordinary path that Be THE Voice has embarked upon could not have been
realized without the steadfast backing of both Rotary and Interact clubs
throughout the state! A glowing testament
to Rotary International’s motto of “Service above Self”
